Flagler County to Break Ground on New Fire Station 51 in Bunnell |
Public Invited to December 8 Ceremony at 245 County Road 305 |
Flagler County is set to host a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Fire Station 51 on Monday, December 8, at 11 a.m., located at 245 County Road 305 in Bunnell.
The public is warmly invited to attend this significant event.
Fire Rescue Chief Michael Tucker expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "This is especially exciting for us, as we have been working with our Engineering Department and Schenkel Shultz Architecture over the last two years on this prototype.
This is our first station to use this prototype design."
The upcoming Station 51 will be a single-story, 10,900-square-foot facility featuring three equipment bays.
Strategically positioned in western Flagler County, it will be approximately equidistant from the existing stations: Station 51 on County Road 13 in Espanola and Station 57 on County Road 2006 in St. Johns Park.
The project carries an estimated cost of $10.36 million.
In addition to enhancing emergency response capabilities, the new station is part of a broader initiative to improve infrastructure in the area.
Notably, the Flagler County Nexus Center is set to host its grand opening gala on December 4, just days before the fire station's groundbreaking.
Located at 2199 Commerce Parkway in Bunnell, the Nexus Center will serve as the new home for the Bunnell Branch Library and Flagler County Health & Human Services, further enriching community resources.
Residents are encouraged to participate in these events, marking significant milestones in the county's development and commitment to public safety and community services. |
